A men's accessory par excellence , sometimes not loved by everyone but no one can deny that the tie is rightly required on every official or formal occasion.
What determines the outfit in the life of all men? Work or leisure?
It's really her: the tie .
Perhaps this division was clearer once, but if you don't wear it your look will certainly be more casual and therefore less formal.
Among the many factors that determine the choice of a tie as lined or unlined, what type of fabric, 3/5/7 or 12 folds, handmade or not, wide blade or narrow blade, we at Virum for the FW 2020 season have opted for the unlined tie in wool and cashmere.
A tie that is certainly not for ceremonies , but honestly, although we are enormously saddened by the emergency situation we are experiencing, we have not focused on accessories for this type of event.
The reason for this choice? There are several.
In the meantime, we have thought of all those who work in an environment with fewer labels and more casual, those who work in smart working mode and therefore prefer to have less set outfits, or even those who want to be refined even in their free time.
Another reason is that, even though we always have them available online on our e-commerce site www.virum.it, silk ties are more suitable in combination with jackets or suits in combed wool such as Tasmanian wool.
This season's trend, however, is blazers in carded wool or wool-cashmere… plain, pinstriped, Prince of Wales or windowpane check.
With this type of outerwear, the unlined wool tie undoubtedly creates the right outfit!
The classic sheen of a silk tie would clash greatly with the warm, opaque colours of flannel or carded wool.
At this point, you might want to ask yourself some questions about the type of knot suitable for these refined ties.
A separate article will talk about this.
