Man is generally very much a creature of habit, he knows very well what he wants and above all what he doesn't want... and even in our world, that of tailoring , we often find ourselves faced with these situations.

Wool and cashmere flannel

A case in point is flannel.

There are lovers of this fabric, who can't wait for the temperatures to drop so they can wear their beloved flannel garments, and then there are those who don't like it , due to its classic heaviness and a tactile sensation that is sometimes a little rough.

We also think of those who work mainly in offices and closed environments and who do not feel the need for a garment that keeps them particularly warm.

Virum always offers some flannel garments in the cold season, but this time we intend to put those who vote against this precious fabric in a bit of a crisis .

I'll explain why.

We have moved away from the classic wool flannels that we all find on every corner, and have chosen to make a real upgrade by proposing an undoubtedly atypical flannel: wool and cashmere flannel, with a weight of 220 gr/m2.

Differences between classic flannel and Virum flannel

The main differences between the classic wool flannel and ours are attributable to a much lower weight (minimum 350g compared to 280g) compensated by a greater endothermic capacity thanks to the cashmere component.

The hand is very delicate to the touch, always thanks to the softness of cashmere, and these characteristics make it an extremely pleasant fabric to wear, even for those who do not like classic flannel.

We recommend it for multiple uses, trousers, dresses and blazers .

Men's wool flannel trousers

We have included this fabric in the ICONIC line, made to order trousers with an unmistakable style, in the CONTEMPORARY line, ready to wear trousers with a slim fit and classic single pleat line, and also in the MTO section where jackets and blazers can be customised.

We also used this particular flannel for a new coat that will be added to our collection, a garment designed in collaboration with a tailoring blogger from the Marche region but Milanese by adoption, Marco Taddei .

Stay tuned…
